Problem
When trying to copy files or create new folders on your $HOME
folder, you might get an error like the following:
mkdir: cannot create directory 'test': Disk quota exceeded
Solution
The disk space available on each user's $HOME
is currently limited to a maximum of 50 GB. Consider using the group storage under the /project
file system, that has a separate and bigger quota in general. Note however that the quota on /project
is shared by all members of the group.
Please have a look at the summary of the file systems available on the CSCS Knowledge Base
